Video Games Make Kids Stupid?

I firmly believe in the fact that no one is born stupid or “dumb”, that everyone has a choice to either be someone special i.e clever or someone stupid if they want too. However, recent research claims that playing video games are making children “stupid”! This is absurd and I REFUSE to believe in this without more proof!


Ministers claimed pupils spend so much time on consoles that they are not burying their noses in books. infact the UK government announced plans for a ?5 million ($10million) cash boost for libraries to give free books to local nurseries ? and urged mums and dads to do more to encourage kids to read at home.

KIDS hooked on computer games have sent England plummeting down world league tables for reading, it was claimed yesterday.

The Sun?s story comes from a study of England?s primary schoolers, which has apparently revealed that more than a third of ten-year-olds spend at least three hours a day playing videogames, much more than children of other European countries.

This is absolutely absurd as I am a current student living in the United Kingdom and I am not stupid…otherwise would I be online blogging about such nonsense like this?

What I believe is that, kids or adults for that matter, do not need to play 24hours but also dedicate time to studies and other aspects of life but have you all noticed that it takes skill for someone to play a game? The guys who are really good at this are making a living out of this, in fact some get $150k just for sponsorship deals! Hopefully it wont be too long before I am paid this amount also.
