Playstation Back on Top?

May 8, 2008 by Abdalla Ahmed

Acording to Sony Computer Entertainment President Kaz Hirai, the PS3 will be back on top very soon.

PlayStation 3 will help Sony reclaim its position as the leading games console maker, the head of the firm’s console division has said.

Speaking to BBC News, Kaz Hirai said the machine would overhaul rivals Nintendo and Microsoft within its 10-year lifecycle. PlayStation 3 sales have outstripped those of Microsoft Xbox 360 in Europe but it lags behind in North America. Nintendo’s Wii console is the number one next-generation machine globally. Mr Hirai said Sony was engaged in a “marathon” race with Nintendo and Microsoft.

I believe the PS3 has much potential after visiting the PS3 Open day at the O2 Arena, London two days ago. The Playstation has supreme graphics as well as great games such as GTA IV however, the problem I believe seems to lie between the superiority of each console over the net. With Microsofts xbox 360 dominating, I still think people will opt to buy the 360 rather than the PS3.

Below is a video of the PS3 online gameplay.

…I still prefer the 360, what do you think?

In other news, we are now only 19 days away from our first birthday! Yes, SweetHacks will soon turn 1 years old and to celebrate that we are giving away $100! Make sure to watch out for our huge contest coming up in the next few days. Hint, keep reading the upcoming posts on how to enter the competition.

Whats a PS3? I see Xbox’s and Wii’s in shops, on display and in boxes all the time. But the PS3? I never even hear about that lump of lard. As for me, never the nintendo wii, never the PS3, the Xbox 360, it will always be.
