Generate Higher Revenue with New Chitika in-line Text Ads “Linx”

Before I begin, I just wanted to let you know that I am back to full time blogging and would like to thank Ghumra for his contribution the past 2 days while I’ve been busy with school (midterms).

I just got an email from Chitika about their new in-line text ads program which they call “Linx”.

Monetize your hot keywords within your content with our new Chitika | Linx. Our new Linx will identify key products/keywords within the content on your website or blog and hyperlink (double underline) keywords to interactive paid (CPC-based) product listings featuring best deals, offers and promotions from name brand merchants.

You may have noticed that I used to run Kontera text link ads but I have now removed them as it was doing nothing more than slowing down the page load time. I am now trying to Chitikas Linxs and will see how it goes, hopefully a larger CTR!

This is how the ads look

Its simple, install the ad code and hope people click and get paid!

Now, Installing it can be a little bit tricky if you do not know anything about php or basic html but what you want to do is paste the ad code onto all of your site pages right before the closing HTML tag. For wordpress it would be on the sinlgle.php and main index template (index.php). But then again, what is wordpress without plugins? Thanks to Lucia Liljegren of Big Bucks Blogger we have a cool easy to use plugin that does all the hard work for us!

Simply download the wordpress plugin from visiting her blog or alternatively click here to download the plugin instantly.

Help with using the plugin can be found here – again thanks to Lucia :)

UPDATE: Forgot to say that the plugin works with any in-line text ads such as kontera or chitika.

I guess thats another point as to why wordpress rocks!

The problem, as I see it, with any form of advertising on a blog is that the reader may get the impression that the author of the blog is not really interested in developing their

readership… but only interested in generating some cash.

When I started “blogging” in 2003 I did so because I felt that I had a “story” to tell, which may interest others. I certainly wouldn’t want to send my readers away chasing after some

advertisement.
