Blu Ray Discs - They Actually Rot?

June 17, 2007 by Abdalla Ahmed

Personally i’m an xbox 360 fan but when I was told by some friends that their blu-ray discs can actually “rot” I was quite amazed. Thought the whole reason Blu Ray Discs where chosen as to DVD discs where because of their superiority to DVD. Less security risks and this and that, well hah- For all you PS3 fans, hate to say so but in your face!

The spot appears on the disc coating for no apparent reason and cannot be rubbed off even after proper cleaning procedures are applied. The most rampant incidence is with the movie “The Prestige,” with some other whines and moans here and there.

The scope of the problem is almost impossible to determine as of the moment but those who experienced the problem are encouraged to ask for a replacement in the store where they got it. If enough incidents are reported, retailers can escalate this to the proper avenues for appropriate action to be taken.

I think the problem lies with the people not looking after their own xbox 360 DVD’s. You could always hack your 360 to iXtreme and use LEGAL backups?

Im an xbox fan yes, but that does not mean I hate the PS3, we still have problems with our console (xbox 360) such as the DVD’s scratching very easily but thank god for iXtreme Firmware :)

Well either way, until there is concrete video evidence, we wil just classify this as a rumour with edited pictures.
