The Worst 2 Types Of Players You Need To Avoid Whilst Matchmaking in Halo 3 - Part One - The “Parasite”

Now, winning a game depends on how good you are in killing and surviving as there is a kill to death ratio you need to maintain. You also gain medals for your achievements within a game such as a beat down or sniper kill (headshot). But we all know, getting to level 50 wont be easy as we need to win a heck of a lot of games and have a good team, therefore I have taken the liberty to warn you about the sort of players you need to avoid at ALL COSTS.
As I said, for any game type that requires killing such as team slayer, you need a GOOD TEAM therefore in part one we will discuss why you must avoid “The PARASITE“. Before we move on, we need to discuss what exactly a “Parasite” is.

Heres a professional definition of the word “parasite”:
“An animal or plant that lives in or on a host (another animal or plant); it obtains nourishment from the host without benefiting or killing the host”
As you can read the parasite obtains nourishment from the host without any benefit or killing the host.
Now this is where it all gets interesting.
Ladies & Gentlemen, in halo 3 we have hundreds of the same kind playing online, matchmaking, hoping to gain a host in this case a “party” so they can benefit or in other words “parasite” from their superiority essentially feeding themselves as a parasite would, in this case the end result being a victory at the hands of the other team members without doing well themselves.
If you still dont understand, let me give you a prime example, find below the picture of a recent game played in Team Slayer:

Look at the picture- what do you notice? The blue team won 50-35 meaning they more or less dominated the red team. However, we still have a classic example of the “leech” in action. Look at the player Kill to Death ratio which shall from now on be written down as K/D - What do you notice?
Warboss - 23 Kills / 12 Deaths | K/D at [+11]
Poonage - 18 Kills / 11 Deaths | K/D at [+7]
xO TheROCK Ox - 9 Kills / 13 Deaths | K/D at [-4] - WTF?!?!?
What can we see here? Clearly Warboss & Poonage played to a very good standard and xO TheROCK Ox seems to have simply been at the right place at the right time essentially “parasiting” off the two good players gaining nourishment (in this case levelling up) by his terrible performance.
How to avoid such players? Well its more or less impossible as there are simply too many of them. In our case we could not get rid of the rock as he is a friend of ours (who so happens to suck at halo) but what can be done is to leave a player rating that states to avoid the player (due to of lack of skill). This should help you to not ever, NEVER get into the same team as the “parasite” and should help you gain that level 50 faster. What we also suggest is that you party up with people that you know are good so you can improve your gaming skills and enjoy the games but make sure you dont “parasite” yourself or even worse “leech” like the dude below.

Dont know what a “LEECH” is? Stay tuned for part 2, where we discuss the “Leech” and how to avoid him.
Avoid Parasiting and until next time folks!
