New “Redesigned” PSP Coming Soon (Pictures From E3 2007)

This years E3 was definately cool but I missed the event which I usually watch over the net or tv due to my day time job but luckily Ghumra showed me the proposed upcoming changes to the Playstation Portable (best known as the “PSP”).
Can you guess which is the newer of the two? The PSP to the right is how it looks currently while the white smaller version is the one we will hopefully see soon.
So what is the point in getting the new PSP?
The new “enhanced-design” PSP is a smaller and slimmer version of the original, with a third less weight and about four-fifths the thickness. Sony plans to phase out the current PSP design and replace it with the new model by September.
According to GameSpot, the new weight is immediately noticeable as soon as you hold the PSP in your hand. It’s so light that you might think that it’s missing a battery or doesn’t have a UMD inside. Sony was able to slim down the battery size while maintaining the system’s 5-hour battery life by decreasing the power draw of the unit. You’ll be able to use old batteries from the original PSP to double playing time, but the standard battery cover won’t be able to fit over it. Sony will offer a high-capacity power kit that will come with its own PSP cover to fit over the larger battery.
What new features does it have and how much will it cost?
The redesigned Piano Black PSP will make its way into the basic $169 Core pack this September. Sony will offer a $199 Ice Silver PSP in a new Daxter Entertainment Pack that includes Daxter, Family Guy, The Freakin’ Sweet Collection on UMD, and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo.
The new PSP feature’s a video output that will let the PSP to output gameplay, movies, and photos to a TV display. Check the following picture for a hint of the quality where talking about.
Neat huh? Also, if wanted that is, you can get a component cable with audio connectors to offer complete AV connectivity - Sweet!
Will you be buying the new PSP? I certainly will if the price does stay as promised which currently should be about the same as it is available from stores.

Ive made a small list of the 7 most Dumb moves I have seen over the past few years, many of them recently. Check. IT. Out.
1. SEGA Dreamcast? - WTF … That thing died so fast its not even worth mentioning anymore..
2. The Power Glove - And I thought the Dreamcast was bad…
3. Sony releasing a new firmware update whenever the current firmware is hacked for the PSP - Pointless. Long Live Homebrew!
4. Microsoft Announcing the Xbox 360 “unhackable” - … yea right.
5. Sony making the PS3! - Waste of resources..
6. Microsoft banning modded xbox 360s from Live. - Yea…just return it back to microsoft or sell it on ebay…also buy another and put iXtreme on it…GOD Bless C4E.
7. Sony RELEASING the PS3 - What..am I going to buy a console for £400/$800 Na Ah.??
Congratulations to all the people over the respective company headquarters feeling smug about themselves…cus All I see is dumb people and dumb people are…well let the picture do the talking…

Cool usb drive

I was surfing the net when I came over this cool new usb drive which is made up of wood (dead wood apparently).
made from 100% dead tree and is both fashionable and useful.
The memory stick features a whooping 2GB (not bad for a fashionable product) and is made out of wood…yes wood not the shitty plastic were used to. Blu-ray Beats HD DVD in … I dont think we care!

I think Abdalla wrote about how the Blue Ray discs was beating the HD - DVD’s in the global market and boy was it interesting then but I realized… I wasn’t really interested…not anymore. So I’ve been ignoring the reports that have come out since then, including the most recent bit of Blu-ray bluster based on the format’s dominance in Europe (when the PS3’s built-in Blu-ray player is factored in - Read the DailyTech Article).
Looking at this recent spat, the Blu-ray group can’t honestly count every PS3 because some people just bought the things to play games. At the same time the HD DVD group can’t totally discount every PS3 because some people bought them to watch movies and/or play games. I quote:
In short, the old saying was right. There are lies, damned lies, and statistics. All of these press releases are little more than spin driven by fear, as well as a means of treading water until a killer blow can hopefully be landed. We should be ignoring them, not encouraging them.
Who cares if some blue ray disc is beating some DVD?? Lets see if the amount of PS3 units sold can beat the amount of 360’s sold by the end of 2008…then we have some statistics to look at…Damn Sony to Hell

I read this from a copy of OXM or Official Xbox Magazine in the Rumor Mole section. It looks like Sony’s worst mightmare is coming to fruition, as The Mole has learned from a bankable source that Konami will be bringing Metal Gear Solid 4 to the Xbox 360. A separate, non-Kojima-led team will handle the port, which will ship a few months after the PS3 version.The rumor appeared to pick up some validity when Konami executive Kazumi Kitaue was quoted as saying:
“Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps.”
This statement could just be another ambiguous piece of information with no proof but if this is true…IN URE FACE SONY!
