New Sony Walkman…Apple iPod Shuffle Killer?

July 27, 2007 by Abdalla Ahmed · Leave a Comment

Wow, a lot of new products being made by various companies to match current market leaders, remember the last post regarding the potential iPhone killer entitled the nani? Well now I’ve come across a potential match to Apple’s iPod Shuffle and guess by whom?.. yes, thats right, no other than Sony!

This little beauty weighs in at 30g and is tiny but sports a lovely 3-line colour LCD display. The downside is just 12 hours of battery life, which is average rather than great for something this small. The USB connector means you can plug it straight into your laptop or hi-fi, while there’s also a built-in FM tuner, voice recorder and equalizer.

How is it better than the Shuffle?

We all know how you have to use i-tunes with your ipod’s or other shitty programs but with the new Sony Walkman (NWD-B100), You can drag and drop & its friendly for ATRAC-free MP3 and WMA files. No more need for the usual Sonic Stage program which was a must use before.

How much will it cost?

Its rumoured to cost about $100 (£50) which is quite cheap but still costs the same as the shuffle. However, the sony walkman features an LCD screen which the shuffle does not and also comes in 1GB & 2GB bundles - Your Choice.

Will I be getting one? Nah, I’m saving up for an iPhone :D

Sony PSP Firmware Update 3.52 …. and moments later hacked!

July 26, 2007 by Ghumra · Leave a Comment

In less than 24 hours of the PSP Firmware 3.52 release, team M-33 have released PSP 3.52 M33 (Russian).

Custom firmware 3.52 M33 changes:

* Now uses 3.52
* M33 NO-UMD: fixed problem with Simple 2500 Series Portable, The IQ Cube
* Fix a bug which made Go!Cam, GPS and sceKernelLoadExecVSH* not work in game mode.
* PSN downloaded PSX games support wasn’t working in 3.51 M33 (didn’t work in latest OE’s either). Now it is working again. If an original PSN game still doesn’t work, we recommend to delete files KEYS.BIN if exists, and copy the game again from ps3 to psp.

Everything that was working before should work…so only thing left is to update and enjoy. :D

Japan Unveils iPhone Killer

July 25, 2007 by Abdalla Ahmed · 3 Comments

While surfing the net looking for more iPhone news, I came across the blog of the well known “Sci-Fi” Channel… I never knew they had a technology blog but they do and they have great content. According to the blog, a company by the name of Sophia Mobile have made the “nani” (when literally translated means “what?”), to take on the apple iPhone and boy does it have the good to back up its claim of being the “iPhone Killer”.

Nani

The Nani features:

  • Large 4.3-inch touchscreen
  • Video playback at 800 x 400 pixels
  • MicroSD card slot
  • Wi-Fi capability
  • Camera (2MegaPixels??)
  • TV tuner
  • Is this the iPhone killer? What do you think?? To me it looks nice but unless its unlocked or can be unlocked to all GSM carriers/Networks I probably wont be buying it.

Metal Gear Solid 4 GamePlay Video

Full 15 minutes of game play goodness, with Kojima narrating the whole time. We get to see how the in-game camera moves, the amazing camouflage feature in action, and many other game play techniques. Marvel at ‘Solid Eye’ in action and even witness Mk.II kicking some PMC ass.

Cool or what? Part 2 of the video can be found by: Clicking Here

The user bsw50 of digg Was browsing through his local Wal-Mart in Viera, FL yesterday when he came across something that I think summarizes the past 1.5 years of the XBOX 360:

Like the Red Light Edition of the XBOX 360?? Exclusively Sold in Wal-Mart!

Also they still selling Crackdown for $60? Thats quite cheap for UK based prices but expensive in the States! What do you think?

Oh by the way, we’re giving away an xbox 360…and it definitely isn’t a 3 red light edition: Check It out by Clicking Here

    iPhone Hack Attack

July 24, 2007 by Abdalla Ahmed · Leave a Comment

It is Apple’s ultimate gadget, the device that saw half a million people queue around the block to buy it within two days of its release.

    iphone.jpg

Now… how would you like it if I told you that the iPhone has flaws that could let hackers take complete control of it? Yes thats right, genius’s world wide have found that they can gain access to the iPhone through a Wi-Fi connection or by directing users to a website containing malicious code (viruses etc).

” Hackers can download a wealth of personal information, including contact numbers, e-mail adresses and text messages. It could even be possible to remotely order the phone to call premium rate lines or act as a bugging device.”

Wow, a bugging device? Thats cool but unfortunately some people would exploit this hack for their own benefit so therefore upon that note I welcome a patch update by Apple - preferably a MUST DO update such as the PSP for whenever you want to play new games.

“Once you manage to find a hole, you are in complete control”

What do you think about this, cool or not?

    Update:

Luckily enough ISE have informed Apple about this potential exploit and have recommended a software patch to fix the problem.
